Half term came and went, children returning to school, house back in some sort of order, quiet reigns............
It's always too quiet the first couple of days when the children go back to school. I have that sort of ringing noise in my ears from being in a VERY LOUD environment for some time as small boys volume is either "maximum" or "mute" (when asleep). The Daughter has worked her way through a small rain forest of paper with various artistic creations and I nearly did myself an injury playing on Wii boxing but the less said about that the better.......
The last couple of days of half term were spent out and about, we even took a trip out to the coast and let the children dig large holes in sand for reasons only known to themselves. Hubby & I turned a very unflattering shade of blue and wondered what on earth possessed us to go to the seaside in such challenging temperatures but it was a really bright lovely day, the sort that makes me think that spring may not be too far away...... I really love Spring. Summer is probably my favourite season (reclined on lounger in garden, feet in paddling pool, tall glass of *insert appropriate drink for time of day*)
but Spring is just so hopeful and promising with it all to look forward to!
EDIT(just browsing my pictures and found a sunny day in the garden last year sigh.............although ignore the building site and army of toys its improved a lot since then!)
There seems to be a lot of colour around at the moment which is probably highlighting Spring like tendencies for me. I'm working on a crochet flower garland/bunting for The Daughter's room even though we have a reasonable amount of bunting around the house already but can you ever have too much bunting? ;-)
She chose herself a new lampshade for her bedroom as well :-)
I've been attempting crochet in circles but luckily Kathy has saved me and sent a pattern for the lovely cushion like the one on Julia's blog. Thank you Kathy.
More spring like items about to come my way from LuluCarter..... This is a very talented lady who makes me sigh when I look at her lovely creations and a few weeks ago I found myself drooling over one of her latest designs, a modern day dreamcatcher. I am so in awe of people who dream (pun intended) up such original idea's and found myself sending an email straight away asking her to please let me know as soon as they were in her shop :-) To cut a long story short we are expecting a delivery very soon!!

More talent in blogland came from Ruby'sMamma in the form of this lovely beaded bracelet - again, finding myself sighing over sweetie coloured glass beads resulted in an another "request" email and now have it adorning my wrist making me smile whenever I catch a glimpse of it.
Thanks also to Mel for sending me lovely cards - The "Keep Calm & Carry On" one is to be placed in a prominent position as a reminder to do just that when I commence my spring cleaning. We have dust bunnies breeding like, er, rabbits, under sofa's and I know there are a few large spiders thinking of taking up residence in dark, cobwebby corners so on with the marigolds and out with the feather duster. You never know but I might even use those attachment thingies on the vacuum cleaner....
Have a good week!

I have a load more GORGEOUS home location websites which I will email you later!! Enjoy your peace and quiet! Claire xx

Well someone sounds like their full of the joys of spring, also sounds like you had a good week with the little ones.
we were really lucky with the weather, so there was a lot of playing outside but we did a lot of chilling out as well.
I agree the first couple of days back do seem very quiet but I do enjoy a quiet, hot cup of tea.
Enjoy your week, keep up the high spirits spring is on the way.
Hi hun......how peaceful for you!
Must be nice tho to crack on with some crafting?

I can get on your blog again! Woohoo. You were blocking me weren't you. Loving your little one's bedroom, very sweet and full of vibrant colours.
We went to the coast too, well the Wirral.
I have e-mailed you, enjoy!! Claire xx
Lovely ribbons - aren't kilner jars just the best?!
Your daughters bedroom is lovely, must be a little girls dream room.
Loving all the colours in your post, the colours of Spring and Summer. I, like you, am a real good weather person, your image of the garden, sun lounger, pool, drinky in hand, oh yes please! I didn't even get to use my Cath K rosy sun loungers last year but boy am I hoping to make up for it this year. Crochet strikes me as the perfect occupation whilst lounging. Mia's bedroom looks so pretty, oh how I'd love to have a girl to indulge in girly decorating but as Mr Henhouse points out it cannot be guaranteed, so maybe not then!!!

I spent last night practising crotchet circles (my mum made it look so easy) with the intention of making a cushion but then I still have to go back to the flowers for decoration.
What is it with crotcheting at the moment, everyone seems obsessed. I know I am.
Love the dream catcher, think I may have a go at making one myself. Things like that I can do, it's just the damn crotcheting i'm struggling with lol!
Have a good week
Take care
Hugs

Now that is what I call a garden, it looks lovely!!!
Let me know when you are coming too visit Bosham I will buy you an ice cream and show you my new camera, how could you turn that down… ;0)

Your daughter's room is soooo pretty, can I move in please?! You can definitely NOT have too much bunting, that is a fact!
Your garden is lovely, it's massive! Must be great to have proper trees and everything. Ours is quite little but I think it's the price we pay for living near town and having a garage in it!
I do like your pretties too!

Glad you had a good weekend. The Lulu Carter stuff looks interesting.
Love Emma xxxxxx
I have to say Spring is my favourite month (nothing at all to do with my birthday being in spring!) I love the bright zingy colours all around us, and it's so nice after the grey dull days of february! I think spring is on the way.

Well, it sounds like you had a fun break with the little ones and are now enjoying some mommy time. It is amazing how many things I can add to my "to do" list when the house is silent. Spring is on the way! Sounds like you are ready, too. Have a great day! Liz
Sounds like you have been very busy and some great crochet work coming along.

Would you do a favour for me & let MelMel know I want to still read her blog. The update came through that I must register before 8.30 but I already can't & then I tried again & I could but then I didn't leave a comment then when I should have. I so hope you don't mind me asking you this.
Wow your house is beautiful of cause we are not used to houses like that here. Great photos as usual.
Caroline
Oh well it let me through again to Melmels blog.
Thankyou for listening to my rambling!!

Oh and I meant to say before -
HOW BIG IS YOUR HOUSE??

Mad women again, I've just had a notice failure for your email, I've tried it again but will try tomorrow if it comes back again!!! :( XXX
It's great to know that this same scene was being repeated around the country - my brood are all grown up now but I am a glutton for punishment and now am doing it all over again to make a living as a registered childminder and also for my grandchildren. I wouldn't miss it for the world - and some people say it is boring being at home!!! Never a dull moment I say and please all of you treasure these times because these little people have a tendency to grow into big people in the blink of an eye - precious times that will never come round again. Take care all and keep your sense of humour. Debbie x
Hi Lesley - Lovely Post - Enjoy being a domestic goddess now the Little ones are back at school.... Brave you at the Beach - bet the children had a fab time though! Love the Bracelet... Lydia xx

Hiya, just sent you and email via yours, sorry forgot to delete your comment, meant too but got sidetracked as usual!! :) xx
Gorgeous photos, love your garden!
Good luck with the crochet pattern, I tried one online and it grew too fast and went a bit wobbly so I had to adapt it. Show us all when you've finished it!
Julia xx
My house is incredibly quiet today, I almost feel like I'm trespassing ... Glad you had a good half term. Spring has to be the most exciting, optimistic time of the year, it's so good to know it;s on it's way

Hello lovely!
Love the dreamcatcher and bracelet...I love mine from Kirsty....so well made....pretty beads...so many talented peeps in blogland!
Hope to see you soon!xxx
Hi Lesley,
Just reading your post made me feel happy, the mention of spring, birds singing and the forthcoming summer (hopefully) is therapeutic!
I can't wait for the weather to improve for more than a few days in a row to start the spirit-lifting spring cleaning you're refering to! Already last week, I noticed the mood changing at my place of work (Big Yellow) with people doing an early clear out and filling up their storage unit with their skiing gear and other temporarily unwanted items. Crazy how fast we're willing to forget about winter!
If you would like to discuss this further, don't hesitate to drop me a line, and check us out on www.bigyellow.co.uk
All the best,
Steph
Hiya, have you still got your bum on chair whilst drooling over the houses?? I also sent the link to Clare Carter being as its all her fault for getting me addicted to the sites! We may as well all get in trouble by our hubbies lol!!
Claire x
PS Not sure what i'm doing with my site yet but still with NOTHS but if you ever want to buy anything you can do it direct through pay pal...thankyou xx
Hi I've found a way to comment on your blog again!!
Love your daughters room - I only wanted a girl so I could do a pretty room - ho well :) I do have a spare room that has lots of pinkness creeping in!!!
I didn't know JL did red spotty - my nearest store is a bit limited in the haberdashery dept - but I'll have to keep my eye out!!
It really was easy - and I'm really cackhanded!!!
