This months is oozing with colour and lovely things :
Unfortunately it arrived at 5 minutes before school pick up but as we have a friend round to play I am hoping to get 10 minutes to quickly browse through properly before I have to deal with the comments so far including:-
"when will we eat?" "what are we having?" "get small boy out of my bedroom he isn't a girl" "can I have my ears pierced because xxxx has" "oh, and can I have a mobile phone" (she is 7 so the last 2 are never going to happen as long as I can help it!) and don't even get me started on the ideas for what book character they will go to school as next week on World Book Day!
I've also just seen small boy's quilt and pillow being launched downstairs so I better go and deal with it as I am a bit worried the actual bed will be next..........

I'm a 'magazineaholic' too...I really have to stop buying so many mags so I am trying to train myself to read my old copies (that I can't bear to throw away!) and thus save a few pennies!!;-)
LOL! hope the bed is safe!
over half term one of mine asked if they could take the toilet downstairs. of course i said...assuming they meant 'use' the downstairs toilet! oh how wrong i was because they asked for spanners and a crow bar!
they wanted to 'ride' it down from the attic to the hall!
I love housey mags but I've just about given up the rest lol!! But I had a child free day yesterday and sat eating my sandwich in John Lewis with OK! magazine - it was blissful!!
Email on its way x
My name is thrifty and I'm a magazineaholic too. It's bad very bad. I shall be buying that magazine in the supermarket later.
Drool!
I'm on the wagon...that Ideal home is enough to temt me into bad ways!xxx
It sound like a normal day in my house - one daughter and one younger brother - it's always nice to know that other kids are just the same! That mag looks great and I think I just may NEED to buy it :O)
I too buy lots of magazines and have tried really hard to cut down but have my favourites are on subscription. It's lovely to arrive home from work and find one on the doorstep!

I love mags too, those pages look particulary lovely! x
How hysterical, sounds like they are having a ball. Poor boy... I'm sure he'll get his own back by having a friend round soon.
Now that mag looks rather nice; you've now added yet another to my "must buy" list this month. I just had a thought, I should write down all the mags I buy. Then I had a SENSIBLE thought and realised that would be a very bad idea!

magazines are probably one of my top favorite things ever!
Thankyou for letting us have a little browse, I used to be awful for buying mags but now I cheekily read them in borders! That kitchen is gorgeous, with the oilcloth...Lovely xx
Lesely, we are so on the same wave-length, although I am jealous as you get yours before I do, dad has a newsagents so I feel guilty if I dont get them from there plus I can read some of them and put them back.....sshhh!
I get the arguing from Max, he goes mad when they go in his bedroom with him but your daughter sounds so funny bless her! I know someone who gave her 7yr old boy a mobile as a christmas present....mad, why on earth do they need one and I told her so, as she told me before christmas she was getting it!!
Know when is Ideal Home magazine out in the shops, you know I wont sleep know until I get it :)

I'm glad i'm not the only magazineaholic, I can't walk into a shop without zooming straight in on them.
Ideal home is definately one of the best home mags I think.
I've popped a little something in the post to you so can you let me know when you receive it please.
Take care
Hugs

I subscribe to Ideal Home too and my daughter heard the thump on the door mat just after lunch today so she scuttled off to collect it, passed me the magazine then collected up her soft toys ready for bed. Gosh I felt awful - am I really the kind of mum who sends her toddler off for a nap when her fave magazine arrives?.... but it was almost her sleep time and she was tired!
It was a great issue this month - love that pink kitchen!
Oh kids are ace...
While around my mums Danny man announced with one hand jauntily resting on his hip, " Mummy...! are we off home now?" and the off kinda came out like a posh "orf!" we had only been there 5 minutes!
A friend of my mums is a little on the large size and my chairs and settee are too low for her to sit on, she brings in a metal frame directors chair, she was heading on so Jamie helpfully started folding the chair, I then heard her say to mum's friend..." oh this chair doesn't want to fold up.... its has had too much weight on it!"
Our local village shop only caters for gossips, farmers and perverts in the magazine line... I don't buy Heat or Hello, I really have no need for Smallholders weekly and the mags with the boobs and bits are not very informatitive... not one sign of a crochet pattern or the latest new kitchen look! What does that say about where I live.... we have perverse farmers who like a good gossip!
X Alex
Aren't children great? Haha. I have two of a similar age to yours so I know EXACTLY what you mean! We are going through the 'whatever you have, I want' stage. Oh joy. It's not even as though they each don't have a room full of toys for themselves!
Back to business, ooooh yes, I am a magazine-a-holic too. I sometimes have to cut back because my obsession gets too expensive....when I want them all (oops). This month I have a couple of celeb mags, some interior design 'look how fab my home is...yours could be too' type ones, and then of course the baby ones. As if I need any help with that, but well, after four years, maybe something has changed....who knows?
Here is hoping that you got your five minutes peace and quiet!
Mazagines (as my Little Lady calls them) I buy - pass to my neighbour & then take into work for the waiting room - which gives me a good enough reason to buy! Quite like good housekeeping too (only so that people think I am good at it!)
Sibling scrats - today's one consisted of Little Miss crying because "He's looking out of 'my' window" in the car....Aghhh!
Thankyou for the pancake support!

Okay, I have to tell you my earring story. when my son was small, maybe three, he used to ask me when he could get his ears pierced like mine. I would settle this by telling him that boys don't wear earrings. Well, you have to know that backfired. We walked into a music store, him in his stroller, and walked up to a young man behind the counter to ask a question. My son stood up out of his little stroller, pointed a the young man, and shouted, "Mommy, that boy is wearing earrings!!" How embarrassing. He is taller than I am now, but I have never forgotten that day and your comment about earrings brought it back! Kids are such fun!? Have a great day! Liz
that magazine looks like the perfect world to hid in to escape from all the "what's for dinner" and the favourite in our house at the moment " can .... come round after school?" - oh joy someone else to ask "what's for dinner?"
Would you be hitting mini eggs with a rolling pin by any chance?? There are 100g of eggs in a bag - give or take the ones I tested in the cause of baking!
Can I be cheeky & ask you to say Hi to Mel& congratulaions on the new job for me? - I managed to miss the sign up for her new exclusive blog & now just get tantalising snipits on my people I follow - v. frustrating!
Thanks!

ooh, yes, can't beat a good magazine. It's very addictive, they just seem to worm their way into the shopping trolley. Thanks for the peak, am thinking that I might just have to get IH now as a little weekend treat!
Don't worry there are plenty of us magazineaholics around. In fact I think I'm just an'aholic' and am addicted to everything scrumptious and I don't care!
Tracey
I used to be addicted to interiors mags, and it got so expensive, I decided to go cold turkey and cancel all my subscriptions except the one to Country Living.................. World of interiors has started to creep back in, and I bought Period Living a while ago....................
Ooh, I love magazines but Mr Earplugs just doesn't get it so I limit myself to my Country Living and an occasional crafty mag which I sneak in.
Glad to see you got some notice regarding having to go to school in character. Miss Muffett used to come home and demand a costume with only a day's notice!
Hi lesley
what month is that magazine? I would like to get a copy but want to make sure I buy the right one and so many of them are flipping sealed up you cant tell what is inside!
love emma xxxxxx

Hello Lesley, I confess I'm a magazineoholic too, ahh I feel better now thanks. I laughed when you mentioned world book day, I'm grappling with the idea of making BFG ears out of paper mache!
Have a lovely weekend.
Bertie x
Your questions made me laugh, the most popular round here is "What can I eat?" or "Can I have drink please mummy? NOW!"
I love magazines but I have to wait to get Mum's hand me downs!
mel xxx
That looks a really good issue - will have to get it tomorrow if I can. Is it the March one? I've stopped buying it recently as I felt there wasn't so much in there to interest me, but that looks scrummy. x
Oh my goodness that little look into your ideal home magazine was a real treat! Thanks Lesley! I am desperate for a pink polka dot tablecloth now, and also really missing british magazines... but you've helped with the magazine withdrawal! :) Lottie
i love book week, lili went as strawberry short cake last time. jeans, pink shirt, jumper round waist, sneakers, hat with strawberry stickers (they actually ruined the hat so watch out)and freckles on rosy cheeks. voila!

Hi hun....what a nightmare we are having...they pinched the garden chairs!!!!!!!!!!!
Then sat last night terrorising us, so I could not go out!
In the end I had to phone the Police!
Was blimming dreadful, So hate it here!
We will get together soon....I'll be calm by then!LOL!xxxxx
Well you have seen my piles, oh er missus :)
Somehow I can't seem to stick to the same one. I fall for one, say Real Homes for a few months then get bored and move onto IH, with which I agree with Attic 24 has not been so on par lately, always fall in love with CL, though I do love 25 Beautiful Homes, Ohooo I love them all, though do think that they cost so much and by the way what happens to the ones they don't sell, mmmmm I would like to know that one
Thank you for the lovely welcome and thank you so much for your lovely pretties, you are a crafter and very clever and i can't wait for you to be my teacher :)
x
I had to laugh, I still get what have we got for dinner, even at the age mine are!
I’m not going to admit that I buy lots of magazines as well, not after the post I have just done, you might think I’m obsessed with everything, I do have a few though!!! ;0)

Love your blog dear! Bright and Cheery! Love your the picture of your house and the back yard. I would love to have a yard that size. I would never come in until it was pitch black out. Dreams!
I too have a problem with magazines. Love to get ideas from them. They are awesome. But they tend to get me in trouble when I get that "want" urge. Ooops!
Thanks for visiting my blog and hope to see you back again. I'll be back to yours. :)
My 'Ideal Home' subscription confirms our twin status! But have found it a little disappointing recently - basically feels like I'm paying £3ish for a catalogue of things to buy... Does that make sense? 'Real Simple' from US is my new crush.
World Book Day - Oh God. Not sure what is worse: thinking of costume for dd or thinking of lessons for the day. www.teachit.co.uk here I come!
Thanks Lesley! I like your chatter too!
Love Emma xxxxx
We are having book day traumas too. I wish it was just a day to take the book in rather than dressing up. I will be retreating into a magazine to recover from the stress as soon as I have made the costumes!
Cathy X
I was worried that a 5 year old wouldn't manage a needle - but she did sooo well! Our book day consists of sending Little Miss in her PJ's.....
