Hearts & awards & a giveaway :-)

Hello there ! I seem to be meeting myself coming backwards at the moment being so busy but my life seems to have been taken over by small children.................

Okay, I admit as a stay at home mum I shouldn't really be surprised by this but the last couple of weeks has consisted of a multitude of playdates (is this an American thing we have adopted ? I don't remember doing the whole playdate thing as a child) and 3 parties over 2 days as well as the usual school run twice a day. I like that the children are busy and have friends and stuff going on in their lives so maybe I am just a tad jealous that the family organiser calendar columns are full under their names but mine and hubbys are acres of white space............

My social life at the moment seems to consist of blubbing over the last episode of CSI Investigation with Grissom in it, catching up on blogs, planning lists in my heads of the crafty projects I want to do, wondering if I am green fingered enough to start a kitchen garden and thinking that I should really wash the car as the daughter has started a number tally in the dirt of how many more days it will be before it's clean again.

I have been buying a tiny bit more fabric (a big thank you to Mary Poppins for being a kind sharing person with the paisley fabric which is gooorrggeeous thank you MP ) and am almost embarrassed to admit just a bit more ribbon as well :-D

I have actually made a couple of hearts and a little bird though so although my fabric pile is now multiplying on a weekly basis I have made a very small indent into it!

As I have never really done the giveaway thing before if you leave a comment saying which heart you would like I will pick someone out next Monday and it will be yours :-)

Busy week this week as well with it being the last week before half term so having moved 2 large baskets of clean washing from the utility room to upstairs and I am hoping that by Friday I will actually have got round to putting it away but not holding my breath ;-) I'm doing the clever trick of balancing more and more clothes on top of the pile hoping that gravity doesn't take over and tip it to the ground! I even bought a new cardigan and top today rather than risk toppling the pile looking for something to wear !

I am feeling a bit tired though after the clock change and will spend the next week querying what time it "really" is rather than the actual time as it takes me a week or so to adjust!

Just wanted to say thank you ladies for my lovely awards I have received - I think most already have them but feel free to award yourself !

hope you all have a lovely week :-)

Hi Lesley,

I know how you feel. I seem to be looking down at myself running around 'mainly' after the children!! I have mixed emotions on half term next week, all three children to entertain at once, but then a little bit of a lie in and plodding around in PJ's as late as I choose (eating chocolate - one of the joys of easter!) mmmmm, always a toughie for me!!

Have a lovely week, and congrats on the awards,

take care,

Nina x

Hi Lesley

I think we have the same life, except in my case my husband also has all these things he has to go to (leaving do's, beer festivals...)! A friend is getting married in August and her sister is organising the hen night and emailed me the plans... I almost laughed. Who has hundreds of pounds for a weekend staying in London, going clubbing, out for dinner and "maybe a few beauty treatments" - at £25 each - or a pole dancing lesson at £260 for ten of us!!! Needless to say I will be declining, I feel a bit guilty but really can't stretch to any of that.

I'm just trying to be happy with the crafty stuff at the moment! At least all us bloggers have eachother!

Your bird and hearts are lovely, I think the Bibi heart is my fave :)

Your getting really fab at the whole making n crafting thing!
My sister has been reading your blog and others and feels a tad ashmed that her washing from 2 weeks ago is still sitting upstairs on the ironing board in her bedroom.....waiting for someone kind to do it!

I know what you mean. It's always especially hectic the last week of term - I had about 3 days notice to sort out a World War 2 costume for Thursday, I was rushing round last night organising bits & pieces for egg character decorating for today (Toby's making 'EGGolf Hitler' !!) and still have cakes to bake for school tommorrow.
Great hearts - I love the bibi/gingham one

Yes, children have a much better social life than us grown ups. Not only do they take all of our time, they spend all of our money. Yesterday I gave my son two cheques, one for fifty pounds and one for thirty-five. He's also asked to go on a hundred pound trip and this morning his guitar teacher rang me and asked for thirty-five quid for an exam. I think I need a sit down now!

I too am not sure about the csi thing with no Grisom any more! I will give the new guy a go but how could he leave!

I do however quite like NCIS (the navy one)! plus that Mentalist programme might pan out!

Any whoo, I am shattered I cannot pull myself out of it and the past 2 days I have had the most awful headache...
I got caught out well and proper by it being so light at 7pm and it may take me a while to get use to the new hour movement!

I love your creations, I must get some of those pinking shears...
My favourite is the bottom one, I am into red and white at the moment!

Well done on your awards and your new fabric and ribbon :D can never have enough of either of them!! As you *stole* lol that paisley I would have thought that I would want that one (as some sort of compensation!!) but I am loving the LA bibi one actually so that one is my fave! Your little birds looking cute.
P.S Would love to see your fabric stash soon X

Hi Lesley, your laundry pile sounds like my ironing basket, Im sure I will give myself a hernia moving it from one side of the utility room to the other one of these days. I love your hearts and birdie - the top heart is my favourite, the pink spotty ribbon looks great - Natalie x

Social life.........what's a social life????!!! Loving those hearts, either of them would be a treat. Can't wait for the Easter break here in the VH household, we've cut right back on kid's playdates due to the rather tired and emotional state of Kit!

I think my little ones have more friends than I do! We're busy organising play dates for the Easter holidays.

I love the hearts. I like the one in the last picture the best, but they are all lovely. Well done, you.

I actually forgot to change the clocks, but as I'm getting a pregnancy skin reaction to my watch (for some reason) I was going by the time on my phone on Sunday morning, which thankfully updated itself, but then I glanced at another clock and confused myself when trying to work out when hubby could next have his pain relief (he had op last week!). My Mum then helpfully (or not) reminded me that SHE DID TELL me to change them the night before. Ooops.

Have a great week. x

Hi Lesley
Loving the hearts - all of them - I'm easily pleased! Going a bit do lally over the kitchen. Home tonight (8 am meeting tomorrow - YUK), little ones still at my mum's as it all a bit of a nightmare. Its been a logistical nightmare planning who's where, lunchboxes, uniforms etc... Woke up this morning though, to see lambs in the feild behingd M&D's, and the Edge's surrounded by a light mist. Perfect! Have had completely new carcasses & doors, work top is fab - keep having a secret stroke!

I find putting the ironing away tiresome too...

Love Lydia xx

I know what you mean about childrens things overtaking the adults - 2 weeks holiday from Friday with lots of things planned.. I've got 2 weeks CSI sitting there waiting to be watched. The hearts are lovely , my fave is the red/white one..

all the hearts are lovely, but the last one is especially so.

Totally know what you mean about children's social life - I've hardly seen Gorgeous Boy since the weather improved, he's out playing all the time. And at 18months, Beautiful Girl has her first playdate in the easter hols. Am me - I'm just stuck at home, clearing up the mess and cooking the dinners - at least that's how it feels at the moment!

Hello.... I haven't visited you for a long time so popped over to say hello but see you have a giveaway so it's going to look like I'm just here for that!!!! By the way my fav is the red & white one...LOL!!!
Seems like you're really busy running around after other people... I know loads of mums like that... I would say it's better without kids but my social life is rubbish too!!!! I can't get used to the time change...I'm so tried this week...can't wake up in the mornings.
I'm going to follow your blog now so I don't miss any more posts :)

Sounds like you are quite busy. I hope things slow down enough for you to get some crafting in. As a stay-at-home mom I always loved the feeling of completing something. It seems like the meals, dishes, laundry, etc. never really get done.

Love your flowers, as usual. We still don't have any blooming here (at least not in my yard.) But the days are getting warmer, so there is hope! Have a great day! Liz

I laughed at the image you painted of meeting yourself coming backwards. Liked that one a lot. Not that it's a funny feeling rushing around like a loon. Mr Bun said last night we've got to slow down a bit. I answered how? Not easy running 4 lives.

Keep sane Lesley.

It does get so busy with the kiddies social life sometimes, I think all parents feel left out... I'm constantly ferrying them around. How lovely that Mary let you have some of that gorgeous paisley. I love what you've done... both hearts are beautiful, but I'd choose the paisley, because I've not got that fabric, whereas I have the bibi and love it to bits. xxx

So glad you booked Cissy's cottage, i'm sure you will love it. It is small but beautiful. The children will love their room i'm sure. The couple are lovely and have a son who was very friendly. There is a little garden area for bbqs and you can use the couples garden too. If you want i can tell you some nice places and eateries that we visited?

The OH has done the ironing all this week and it is sill sat on the window box seat, you would think he would put it away, it is no good doing half a job is it.
Your hearts are beautiful, if I was lucky enough too win one I would be more than happy with anyone of them.
Have a fab weekend; I should be at work by now! ;0)

I love that fabric too.
Please count me in, as one of your hearts would look perfect in my camper, and it would always remind me of how lovely you are.
Have a super weekend...catching up....lol..I will be trying to too!

Someone really must let me in on what is happening with Grissom. I fear we are lagging way behind here and I keep hearing things about Grissom not being there anymore. Please tell me!
The hearts are all beautiful. Playdates must be quite nice, nothing like that exists here!
