i wish smellovision had been invented so you could smell what I can.....
its FRESHLY MOWN GRASS :-)
i think that may be up there in my "top 5 smells i like" which also include newborn babies heads, cakes/cookies baking and anything lemony.
Today was the day Hubby dusted off the cobwebs and got the mower out to do the first cut of the year. It was such a gorgeous weekend and then lovely again today so the children and I rushed home from school to run and stretch our legs outside. I even dug out my bright pink flip flops but in my eagerness to get outside left my socks on and socks and flip flops are not such a good look... I am slightly worried that if the weather keeps on improving I may have to show the slightly blue mottled effect that my legs are sporting at the moment as well.................
As I said in my previous post I had sickly children last week and did try my hardest to entertain them but they were both poorly little ones it was such a shame!! One of the craft projects I had on hold ended up being brought out to entertain The Daughter and we made a good job of our Mummy/Daughter project. Just need to do one for small boy now!

Eventually the children went back to school and I tried to get back to normal but its amazing how just a few days can throw your routine out. I came over all 50's housewife today and attacked laundry, cleaned bathrooms and potted plants outside!! There may even be washing drying on the line tomorrow if it stays like this :-)

Hope you have a good week
Lx

The cushion is gorgeous, well done Mum and M, and have to say M's bed is looking very welcoming, I think I would rather like a bed like that

The cushion is lovely, such a pretty name.

ps...can you try and send me an email or comment...something appears to be wrong with my email.
Lovely cushion Lesley, and that LOVE one is great too, did you make that one?? Your plants look very cheerful too xx
Ahhh! The smell of fresh cut grass! That is marvelous, but only a dream for me at this point. Maybe I will get my first smell in a few weeks. Love the pillow project, and glad everyone is feeling better! Enjoy the nice weather. Liz
Hi Lesley,
Good to see you "back in business". You must have the world's largest lawn - does hubby get a sit-on mower because my other half is not eager to get out the mower at al but you know men and their sit-ons! Good to see you fitted in some pretty crafting.

Lesley that is so lovely!
How sweet!
I'm sat here all red cheeked from having a glass of wine at my sister's....not a good look!

I contemplated mowing the lawn today, but instead I cracked on with laundry, I am not much for ironing but I did a stack of it today.... gonna do a bit more in minute too.... what is wrong with me!lol
our neighbour was trimming the hedge, which with the birds starting to nest I am not keen to do at the moment...
If its nice tomorrow I may get the mower out....
Lovely cushion by the way and I love primula's and primroses...
Mother in law says its gonna snow next week ... I hope she's wrong!

Lelsey could you pop around to mine when you're done? The 50s housewife feeling hasn't hit me yet, I'm hiding everytime the sun is out so that I can't see all the dust!
What a joyful post, winter has really almost gone.

Can I have your lawn please -- even a small piece will do :-)... I've managed to get washing dried outside a few times over the past few weeks - so much better than drying inside..

Have just come across your blog and read it with interest. I know what you mean about this weather - I've been cleaning garage doors, washing on the line and bleaching paving slabs!

Love the cushions on your little girls bed - Sadly I don't have a lawn to mow, but I do love the smell too - have a nice week - Natalie x
What a lovely cushion, well done you. I keep planning projects for my daughter's room but they are continually sidelined. Isn't it marvelous when spring finally breaks through?! We've been planting seeds all day today, enjoying the sun.
Hello Lesley
Glad to hear things are slowly returning to normal for you all.
Hope you had your hair in a 50's housewife style too...
George Clooney is in ER this Thursday (i think?!)
Think of me - G has man flu!

I know what you mean. Spring has just erupted here, so much so I have windows open ,planted potatoes yesterday, and today I will put out a line of washing. I love the cushions on the bed!
Loving those primroses!
The bath bar has been removed and replaced a total of about 50 times up to now but I'm still loving it - really!
Why are you struggling with the round cushion? Maybe the instructions are too complex. Basically I just crochet a chain of 4, join with a slip stitch, chain 3 (for 1st dc) then do about 10 dc (US - british triple) into the centre & join with slip stitch. Working into the top stitches I then chain 3 and one dc into first stitch then two dc into each, making a total of 20 dc. Slip stitch and then follow pattern with ch 3 & one dc into first stitch, then single dc into next, two dc into next then one dc and so on. Basically on each round you add an extra dc between the two dc - does that make sense? Reading it, it does sound very complicated but it really isn't.
It does look a bit hat like but once the cushion goes in it's fine. Email me if you can't follow.
Happy hooking!
Julia xx
Lovely cushion.
Not sure I'd agree with you on the small of freshly cut grass....it makes me sneeze.
Glad your children are better!
Love the cushions, great colours
I was going to say I would love to come around and help, but after seeing the size of your garden could I not just come for lunch???
Some gardens should be left as they are, and yours is one of them, it is beautiful as it is.
The cushion you have made is gorgeous, lovely pretty pictures too.

Hello You!
I think you'd like a dinosaur apron too... It was nice baking with him, he's all his dad at the moment, so I was quite honoured to get his attention.. Will have to try it again.
Hope your having a good week.
Love Lydia xx
Lesley you have an award :D XX
Your photos have really brought home the idea that spring is here. Wow, our house and garden is lovely! Such a sweet pillow, you're putting your new found sewing skills to such good use.

I've made a couple more and they're getting easier. Even made one for my Mum for Mothers day.
Found it's easier with slightly bigger buttons and pliers.
Must admit i'm tempted to order one just to compare them lol!
I bet you could make one, you seem to manage to do a good job of everything else you try (for someone who's not a natural crafter).
I expect to see a post on one next week 'hehe'!
Have a good weekend hunni
Take care
