sunny days are back again :-) which makes a nice change from the random rainfall that appears from nowhere and soaks me through as I am never prepared.
Sports day was rained off which I wasn't that bothered about - I still have that dread of sports day even though its my children taking part and not me. The feel of those scratchy, rough, will rub your skin raw, hessian sacks for the sack race. Because I am not the tallest person in the world it was hard to hold it up and not end up with it over my head! I remember jumping like my life depended on it frantically keeping the finish line in sight then realising I had managed to cover about half a metre and was completely spent!!! so forgive me for not entering into the spirit of the whole sports day event its just not my thing ;-)

I'm more of a collapse in a heap as soon as the children are in bed - i would win the "how quickly can you pour a glass of wine and find any leftover chocolate" race though but we all have our priorities don't we ? ;-)
Sports day did go ahead a few days later and the children loved it so will keep my thoughts to myself and busy myself thinking of things to make with my 25% off Laura Ashley fabric. It was so busy in there this weekend and I just kept grabbing random people saying please cut me some fabric before hubby comes in from the other shop and sees what I am buying :-D We have our school fair in a week or so that I was thinking of making some bits and pieces for to donate to the raffle/tombola but we shall see as I'm a bit nervous about putting my stuff "out there" as not many people know I'm into all the crafty stuff - do you find your in the minority with liking sewing, crochet etc?
In the meantime I will keep checking on my tomatoes which although are now resembling a small rain forest have no signs of even one small green tomato!!!

I am extremely offended by them and am obsessively checking them morning and night! I feel under some pressure as Mother in law and my parents have asked for samples and I am sure they think I will have killed them off before any tomatoes appear so may have to resort to Tesco's finest and pass them off as my own ;-) This ladybird is even checking if there are any like the growbag promises!! wonder if I can get a refund................

I missed my blogiversary a few days ago and as I have joined in with the Pay it Forward tag I will combine the two and say that 3 of the comments I receive will get a little something from me :-) the idea is that you then do your own Pay it forward post but I know how busy people are so I will leave the decision upto yourselves so please leave a comment anyway to be in the giveaway
Have a good week!

I've been known to let Jess pull a sicky on sports day as she hates it as much as I did, what a bad mummy.
I think i'm the only one out of my friends that likes crafty stuff which is why the bloggy world is so great. It's lovely to meet so many like minded people.
I would love to join in with your PIF, I really enjoyed mine and wouldn't mind doing it again. God, i'm a glutten for punishment lol!
Take care
((hugs))

I'm not into sports day and i write excuse notes for PE willynilly for ds2!! He has his ma's sporting prowess - not!!!
I am quite secretive about my crafting in real life as not many of my friends 'get it' - not because they are mocking me more that they just don't get the whole HM thing!!
I do that in LA with dh - tried to get some wallpaper to the till last time and he was back sooner than I thought and caught me!!!

I like the sound of a chocolate and wine race ~ I think it would probably be very popular. Love the fabric in the photo is it very pretty :O)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE sports day :)
I am afraid I am a competative olde fool, I would be the one crying in a heap beacause I didn't win ;)
I even entered into the spirit of D's sports day and did the egg and spoon, cheated though, Ohooo yes I forgot to mention I do like to cheat LOL
Yummy fabric, two of my favourites in there :) Good luck with the making, I think your crochet brooches would go down a storm :)

Why do we keep quiet about our crafting skills .... we all seem to do it apart from chatting with each other on here. I think when I was younger I was worried in case everyone thought I was boring but don't give a Castlemaine XXXX now ....
Managed to keep myself away from the LA sale this time as I still haven't used all I bought last time!
I can be like in some of the fabric shops we have in our town if hubby is close by! he he.
My closest friends and of course family know about me crafting - Mrs lovely friend was very much into the whole craft scene helping another friend with her stall every year near xmas. But she now works more or less full time and is studying a lot so dosnt have time for it as much now. Which I know frustrates her. A few mums down at Lala school know about my crafty secret but its not something I talk or go on about. Dont know why or though I think there can be a bit of snobbery surrounding the Handmade thing, even now.
Loving the fabric at the top of the post gorgeous! I hated sport and sports day. Couldnt stand the competivity to be honest. Although I try to pretend to my girls its fun! Although Lala suspects and was most miffed that I did not join the other mums in a race last school sports day. I didnt like to tell her that hell had more chance of freezing over than me entering a race! Lol.

Congrats on the blogiversary. Please may I enter the giveaway, me me me, yes please!
Oh yes, the other parents at the Munchy's school are not remotely interested in, well, anything to do with the school really so would probably be shocked to hear you can actually craft your own things rather than getting them via Taiwan. Out of 250 parents only the same handful ever help with the fairs. I don't think anything I made would actually be appreciated and knowing how long crafty stuff takes, I stick to cakes and baking, at least I can scoff a few, and I do have the mantle of school's best (only?) baking mummy. Your school is hopefully different and would be lucky to get some handmade goodies.
When are we having the "find the wine and chocolate race" 'cos I'm serious competition, lady!
Now I must get on and make two roman blinds, yeuch, hate making them!
Hen x
i am definitly the only one that enjoys crafts around me...

The dreaded sports day!! i hated it, infact i was nearly always 'ill' on that day. Luckily my mum always let me off (she hated it too). My son quite likes it though - his is in a couple of weeks. x
I hated sports day but I have a fab mum who used to let me please a sicky!!
Like you & Hen I'm very fast at pouring wine.... in fact why bother just give me the bottle...lol!!!
Not many of my friends like crafting, that's why I like the blogging world :)
My children loved sports days at primary school...but when they got to secondary school they hated it....so I would often let them stay off and I'd take them our for the day ;-)
Good luck with the fair ;-)
Happy anniversary! Hopefully you will have delicious tomatoes soon!
I think you should make some things, I have worn your crochet brooch with pride & many positive comments at work....
Very nice fabric...

Your tomatoes look better than mine! - Strawberries are really easy, do give them a go! Are you ready for tomorrow night? Have you got chocolate & tissues at the ready??

I remember as a ten year old, going away on holiday and returning to school to find I'd been entered in 3 races for Sports Day - I was seriously distressed and cried the whole weekend, but somehow managed to come first in the obstacle race! - Been to my youngest sons sports day today, luckily it was blazing sunshine, but my son is not really that sporty, in the long distance race, when they were turning the corner, he actually stopped to let the others past and not surprisingly came last! - I love to craft, but don't tell many people, I don't know why, I think its because when I was younger it was deemed 'uncool' - Natalie x
Happy Blogiversary! I love that word :OD I was very restrained in the LA sale and only bought what I went in for (some check fabric) but I did find a LA closer to me than I thought which can't bode well for the next time!
Hi,
I just came across your blog it is really lovely, I Love all the fabric that you have I know that feeling when "The Husband"!! is Lurking! I have that problem with Fabric & Wool! (I get them home as fast as possible and get the labels off them and tell him oh they were all on special offer!!) As For your tomatoes they look like they are coming on great, have you tried feeding them with some tomatoe feed? If all else fails Head for Tescos and while your'e there you can grab another bottle of wine (or two!) I would Love you to put my name in your giveaway ,

Devastated! Missed 8pm episode as at a lecture (End of Life Care - how appropriate?!) & SKY+ failed. So only grabbed the last episode. Boo-Hoo ++++ Izzy looked a bit puzzled to see George, & looked a bit unsure all round ?if she makes it & he doesn't?? Love Miranda's mini melt down moments.... Will have to take up PP ?What has happened to Dereks hair???
How sad am I???

Oh no... Jamies sports day is on the 1st... arrggh thats tomorrow! she is currently off sick with a cold... I was sending her back tomorrow but maybe she'll take a turn for the worse during the night (wink wink)
I love it when I enthusiasticly show people what I have made and they kinda look sideways at you and say something like "oh.. thats nice!" and look really uninterested... especially crochet.. I think they all think I am a bit odd!... but I am so thats fine! ;D
take care

I am soooo with you on the wine and chocolate scramble after the tots are in bed. I then stride briskly when taking the dog for a walk to try to redeem myself! The tommies look lush to me - they're just teasing you x
The fabrics are just delish...and your plants are doing so very well....lucky you!
Blessings,
Spencer
I came by to say hello and catch up with your bloggy news, so a lovely surprise to know I'm entering into your giveaway too.
I always dread the mummies race on sports day. Do you look serious and go for and still come in last or run in a devil may care kind of way? Better still go to the loo.
Lisa x
Ohooo hugs for you, I have one poorly at home, though is definately on the mend if her jumping about and having fun is anything to go by ;~)
Love and get well wishes

I hated sports day! The only running I would do now is if the shop was closing and I had to get a chocolate bar before they closed.
I hope I’m not too late to enter!have a lovely weekend…love Lou xxx
Well-done for not killing the tomatoes plants! :0) xxx
